Celebrating the joy of reading together!
Our older students teamed up with younger readers earlier this week to share picture books and celebrate the magic of stories. From silly voices to thoughtful conversations, it was a wonderful reminder that reading connects us all.
Staff and administrators joined the fun by wearing their Cat in the Hat hats and every student received a special pencil and bookmark to keep the reading going at home.
A big thank you to everyone who helped make this celebration so special because a love of reading is a story worth sharing! ❤️📖

Inspirations Art Program Due this week!
General Rules
Every child can submit one entry for each of the 11 categories of the school level. So every child could have 11 different entries. Each entry must be accompanied by an Inspirations entry form.
All participants are required to fill out, in its entirety, and sign the Inspirations’ Entry Form. Students who have not completely filled out the form will not be eligible for the program. The school Inspirations committee should review the entry forms and allow students the opportunity to complete any entry forms. In situations where a student cannot fill out the entry form or write legibly, a parent can fill out the form and sign her/his child’s name.
Each entry must be the original work of one student only. They may not have assistance from teachers, parents, or friends unless it is clearly stated in the category rules or there is a special case (such as for someone with a visual or physical disability). Because the program is designed to encourage and recognize each student's individual creativity, help from an adult or collaboration with other students is not allowed.
All of the entries must be of original works. Do not borrow from copyrighted material. Use of copyrighted material is prohibited; the only exception is with musical performance. Plagiarism is defined as taking and using another person’s ideas or writings or inventions as one’s own. Plagiarized entries will be disqualified and returned to the student.

When: Saturday, March 7 at 9:30 am & Wednesday, March 18 at 6:30 pm
Cost: Free admission (compliments of the Healthy Bluffdale Coalition in partnership with the Salt Lake County Health Department)

Thank you for planning ahead and arriving on time for early dismissal today at 1:10 p.m. so our staff on duty can come back inside and set up for parent teacher conferences. We look forward to meeting with you to celebrate each of your children.

Our PTO and their many wonderful volunteers have the Scholastic Book Fair Open for the remainder of this week during conferences, lunches, and after school. Please stop by. All proceeds go to PTO and school functions to support our amazing students!

Fourth graders put their problem-solving skills to the test in our Olympic STEM Challenge! Through hands on, high energy activities, students designed, built, and competed—turning teamwork, creativity, and critical thinking into gold-medal learning.

Snow Blitz for grades 7–9 had an incredible second session as students took full advantage of the recent fresh snowfall at Brighton Ski Resort this evening. With perfect powder conditions and beautiful mountain views, our middle schoolers enjoyed an evening of skiing, snowboarding, and building confidence on the slopes. Thanks to Salt Lake County Recreation for providing the opportunity and to our dedicated advisors Mrs. Vader & Miss Vader who supported and encouraged students throughout the night, the experience was both fun and safe. It was exciting to see students challenge themselves, cheer each other on, and create lasting memories together in the outdoors. Snow Blitz continues to be a highlight of the winter season for our secondary students and we were fortunate to get two sessions this winter.

We are so proud of our students who competed in the Bluffdale City Constitution Bowl!
Out of 8 teams competing in the elementary division, North Star Academy Bears brought home 1st and 3rd place — an incredible achievement! Our third team fought hard, showed great determination, and gained valuable experience along the way.
Even more exciting — since only two middle school teams competed, both of our middle school teams are advancing, along with two of our elementary teams, to the State Competition at the Capitol at the end of March!
Way to represent, Bears! Your knowledge, teamwork, and dedication make us proud!

🌱 K–1 Cluster Growing Big Learning Through Hydroponics! 🌱
Our youngest learners are doing some serious growing — both in the classroom and in their hydroponic garden!
Over the past several weeks, our Kindergarten–1st Grade cluster has been diving into hands-on science as they explore hydroponics and the plant life cycle. Students have been observing their plants closely, measuring growth each week, and recording detailed data in their science journals. From tiny seedlings to vibrant greens, they’ve witnessed firsthand how plants grow and what they need to thrive.
Through this project, students are:
🌿 Learning the stages of the plant cycle
📏 Measuring plant growth and tracking changes over time
📓 Recording observations and data in their journals
🔎 Developing scientific thinking through inquiry and discussion
This week, their hard work came full circle! After carefully harvesting their crops, students celebrated by making walking taco salads using the fresh vegetables they grew themselves. The excitement was contagious as they proudly enjoyed the healthy foods they nurtured from seed to harvest.
Experiences like this bring learning to life — integrating science, math, healthy habits, and real-world application in meaningful ways. We are so proud of our young scientists for their curiosity, responsibility, and enthusiasm!
Stay tuned for more updates from our growing gardeners!
