The Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) was established to facilitate communication and involvement between parents and teachers at North Star Academy. Our goals are three-fold: promote the welfare of the children at home and in school, help parents and teachers work together in the education of the children, make North Star Academy a great place to learn.
The PTO board meets every month on the first Tuesday at 8:40 AM in the teachers’ lounge at North Star Academy.
All parents are welcome and every PTO member is included in items voted on by the PTO.
Debbie lives in Riverton with her husband Brent, their four girls and dog. This summer they traveled around the country in their RV to see the beauty and learn the history of this land.
Debbie is excited to be the PTO president this year. Her daughters are at the school and it's a perfect time for her to pay back what NSA has given her family, a place of learning and kinship. Debbie really loves to be in the classroom getting to know the students but has really enjoyed getting to know the parents and teachers through PTO. Anyone who wants to get more involved in school activities and school affairs please come join.
Debbie stays sane by meditation, prayer and yoga.

Sharie OwYoung lives in Riverton with her husband Jason and their two beautiful children, Alex and Lily. She has enjoyed serving on the PTO as the Teacher Appreciation co-chair and is excited to serve on the executive board this year. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family, serving at her church, playing the piano, violin, cooking, taking jeep rides, movies, camping, and crafting especially making hand stamped cards.
She attended Snow College on a full ride speech scholarship and recently got back into doing what gives her the most natural high, public speaking. Being born with one hand and surviving multiple trials in her childhood she found she had lots to talk about.
Laurel is excited to volunteer again to be on the PTO Board as the treasurer. Her children have been attending NSA since 2009. She loves the teaching environment that NSA has to offer and has been very pleased with how her children have progressed academically. In the past, Laurel has also served as secretary and president of her Home Owner’s Association Board, as well as treasurer in the PTA and Girl Scouts. Currently, she works part-time as secretary for her father’s business, and enjoys living in Riverton where she grew up. Laurel is the mother of six children (2 girls and 4 boys). Her interests are spending time with her family, scrap-booking, singing, organizing, Disneyland, gardening, reading, chocolate, and going dates to the movies with her husband.
