Principal's Message
September 8, 2010
Dear Parents and Students,
As you may have heard from your students, Mrs. Hardy was involved in an unfortunate accident while riding her bike. The response from both teachers and students has been heartwarming, emotional and touching! Many cards, mostly adorned with frogs, and well wishes have been collected and will be given to Mrs. Hardy this week. We look forward to her continued progress and healing so we can see her smiling face back at school.
Our teachers are very aware of your students and I want you to know we have a full set of counseling and support opportunities from neighboring school counselors, should the need arise. Some children may be frightened or confused by things they hear from others, and will look to adults around them for information and guidance on how to react. A few North Star Academy teachers witnessed the need for such discussion, and have had the opportunity of teaching valuable lessons to students on how to react to this unfortunate event.
Mrs. Hardy’s family has acknowledged that it is a miracle she is doing so well, and they expect great things from her in the future.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Charné Adams
